청소년과 직접적인 관련이 있는 일상생활의 반복되는 활동에 대한 시간사용을 조사하고 청소년기 일탈행동과의 관계를 직접적인 상관관계를 살펴보았다. 청소년의 시간사용과 일탈행동에 대해 과학적으로 연구하여 청소년의 방과 후 지도방안과 일탈행동을 예방하기 위한 청소년활동 모색을 위한 기초 자료를 제공하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구대상은 양산시에 거주하는 중 고등학생 350명이었다. 연구결과는 첫째, 청소년들이 활용하는 시간은 자기개발활동이 가장 높게 나타났으며 학습활동, 기타활동, 오락유흥활동, 휴식활동, 스포츠활동의 순으로 나타났다. 즉, 청소년들은 다른 활동에 비해 자기개발활동에 가장 많은 시간을 사용하며 다음으로 학습활동 시간을 많이 사용하는 것을 알 수 있다. 스포츠활동은 다른 활동과 비교하여 거의 하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 범죄로 볼 수 없으나 비양심적인 행동으로 구분되는 도덕적 일탈행동이 가장 높게 나타났으며 그 다음으로 청소년이기에 일탈행동으로 구분되는 음성적 일탈행동이 두 번째로 높게 나타났다. 자기 혹은 타인에게 공격적 행동을 하는 공격적 일탈행동은 세 번째로 높게 나타났으며 재산상의 피해를 가져오는 물질적 일탈행동이 가장 낮게 나타났다. 즉, 청소년들은 범죄로 볼 수 없으나 비양심적인 행동을 가장 많이 하는 것으로 나타나 학교나 가정, 사회에서 청소년들에게 도덕성 교육을 강화할 필요가 있다 하겠다. 셋째, 학습활동이 많을수록 물질적 일탈행동은 증가하고, 오락유흥활동이 많을수록 공격적 일탈행동, 도덕적 일탈행동, 음성적 일탈행동, 물질적 일탈행동이 모두 증가한다는 것을 알 수 있다. 스포츠활동은 공격적 일탈행동에서 가장 높은 상관관계를 보이고 있으며, 도덕적 일탈행동, 물질적 일탈행동, 음성적 일탈행동의 순으로 상관관계를 나타내었다. 자기개발활동과 기타활동은 낮은 상관을 보여주고 있으며 휴식활동은 일탈행동과 유의미한 상관관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
