The purpose of this research is to explore the categorization of duties of kindergarten teachers. For that, this study took a series of approaches including literature reviews, the 1st specialist conference (workshop), case studies (daily record), the 2nd specialist conference, consultation with the specialists, and a survey for on-site verification. Seven principals and vice principals of kindergarten schools attended the 1st specialist workshop, and fourteen kindergarten teachers participated in the case study. Twelve specialists in early childhood education attended the 2nd specialist workshop. Four principals and vice principals of kindergarten who attended the 1st and 2nd specialist workshops and four specialists in early childhood education were consulted. In total, 243 respondents including kindergarten teachers, vice-principals, and principals of kindergarten with a minimum of 5 year teaching experience, participated in the first survey for on-site verification. Next, a total of 102 respondents who already provided answers in the first survey took part in the second survey. As a result, the scope of kindergarten teachers' duties can be subdivided into the following 10 categories: 1) preparation for teaching, 2) practice of teaching, 3) assessment of teaching, 4) professional development, 5) tasks related to infant protection, 6) tasks related to parents, 7) event-related tasks, 8) administrative tasks, 9) tasks related to facilities, and 10) interpersonal and social tasks. In detailed views of the categorized duties, it was found that kindergarten teachers carry on a total of 190 duties: preparation for teaching (20), practice of teaching (40), assessment of teaching (12), professional development (20), tasks related to infant protection (33), parent-related tasks (13), event-related tasks (10), administrative tasks (26), facility-related tasks (8), and interpersonal and social tasks (8) respectively. After the content of kindergarten teachers' duties was analyzed, it was noted that their duties vary and the variation in the levels of their responsibility is high. Therefore, labor support from helpers, general operators, and janitors should be given to kindergarten teachers in order to simplify and reduce their duties.
