This research aims to examine the factors affecting counseling expectations and satisfaction with professional counselors
for North Korean refugees. The research was conducted on 200 North Korean refugees. This study on the refugees'
counseling expectations, satisfaction for provided professional counselors obtained the following results: First, in regards to
the North Korean refugees' counseling satisfaction, the counseling service provided by professional counselors was helpful
to over 92.5% of the North Korean refugees in their lifetime. Second, the counseling expectations was high at approximately
76.6%, and satisfaction with counseling was also high at 73.8%. Those factors affecting counseling satisfaction included
some sub-areas of counseling expectation, such as rearing, acceptance, and confrontation. In conclusion, these
results confirmed North Korean refugees' high level of satisfaction with counseling. To complement a few problems found
in sub-areas of the results and provide professional counseling services to North Korean refugees.
