Art subject has been considered as a subject that could make differences but
it seems to become a subject that does not accept “the difference from others.”
Through participating repeated art activities which make children produce
“something similar to what other children make,” children seek the common
process requested universally instead of revealing their own uniqueness
unconsciously. If the purpose of art education is to help children explore and
understand their society and world where they live through free self-expression,
more substantive reform should be attempted in the field of art education as well
as a series of formal changes in art education curriculum which have been made
periodically. That is to say that in order for children to get out of their rigid
‘boundary’ constructed through long-term experience, it needs more active and bold
approach desperately. At this moment, Gille Deleuzes who is evaluated as one of
most important contemporary philosophers can provide us with a practical and
strong will and visions that help us dispart and escape from existing similarities
and all transcendental rules and open totally new life.
The purpose of this study is to explore ‘potential reality of art education’
and put it into practice not just to dream ‘imaginary changes in art education’
through understanding discourses raised by Deleuzes. In this study, among many
philosophical concepts of Deleuzes’ discourses, understanding of ‘body without
organs’ was attempted first and discuss possibilities of reform of art education in
the condition of stratification through exploring ‘art activities in playground’ planed
based on the concept of ‘body without organs’.
