The results of a comparison of Korean and Japanese perspectives on folk dances and games in the elemenraty school curriculum and lessons were as follows: First, in Japanese elementary school, lessons related to folk dances and games as expression exercies were included in the fourth to the sixth grade curriculum but traditional folk dances and games were taught through a festival called \'Mazuri\' Korean elemanraty school curriculum had 4 lessons in the first grade 2 lessons in the second to the furtth grade, and 3 to 4 lessons in the fifth to the sixth grade. In Korean elemenraty school, folk dances and games were mot effectively taught because of lack of teachers speciality instruments and facilities and teaching materials. Second in investigatin opinions of the teachers of folk dances and games in Korea and Japan all the teachers of two countries worried about the retrogression of folk arts. To activate folk cultures, teachin the strengths of Japanese traditional cultures on the basis of understanding the strengths of foreign cultures, continuing education through each community, and an increse of teachers training opportunities were suggested in Japan In Korea an increase of teachers training opportunities, an expansion of instruments and facilities, specialized teachers of traditional cultures competitions of folk arts and others were suggested Third, Korea and Japan had some common characteristics of geographical and cutural aspects ans Japanese folk dances and games were belived to preserve some Korean traditional vharacteristics. Therefore, Korea ans Japan cultural exchanges and collaboration will be needed And also festivals like Mazuri will be needed to inherit traditional cutures in Korea
