The purpose of this study was to examine how athletic meeting programs were condected in elementary school, how teachers perceived athleric meeting and what problems it was faced with in aneffort to help improve athletic meeting in elementary school. The subjects in this study were teachers who worked at a selected elementary school in north Chungcheong province. A qualitative case study was implemented, and descriptive survey, class observation and in-depth interview were stilized to gather data, and other additional data were collected. The collected data were transcribed and encoded by theme, and multiple perspectives and throuth concultation among experts, and it\'s attempted to conduct the study in ans ethical manner. The major results were as foolws. The teachers felt the need for athletic meeting, and considered it advisable to conduct it once a year. They believed that it should mostly be composed of folk games, of that folk games should be added to the typical type of athletic meeting. While having children practive for athletic meeting, they found it most difficult to have them under control, and managers\' excessive expectations put heavy strain on them as well. Students usually skipped two classes a day to prepare for athletic meeting. The teachers found stdents to take a good attitude as a whole when they practiced, and they felt that athletic meeting had the greatest effect on furthering their cooperative spirits. Besides, they thought that athletic meeting might not be conducted not to let students skip classes.
