The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of hope on the relationship
between attachment to mother and life satisfaction in children. For this purpose, a structural
equation model was developed to analyze the data collected from 293 elementary school students
aged 11-12. The major findings are as follows. First, attachment to mother significantly predicted
life satisfaction in children. Second, attachment to mother significantly predicted hope in children.
Third, hope significantly predicted life satisfaction in children. Fourth, hope partially mediated the
relationship between attachment to mother and life satisfaction in children. Based on these findings,
this study concludes with implications for counseling practices with child clients and parents
education, addressing limitations and proposals for further research.
