The purpose of this study was to consider what influence extended poetry activities connecting with literature experience the sensing experience in nature easily accessible in the fields of young children s education exert on children s literacy ability. Results of this study were, First, extended poetry activities through nature experience have been shown to be effective in improvement of young children s reading ability. In the pre-test, both experiment and control groups were distributed most frequently in 8th and 9th stages among literal reading categories which represent the highest category of reading. However, in the post-test, it was shown that 2/3 of the young children were distributed in improved 10th and 11th stages in the case of experiment group with implementation of extended poetry activities through nature experience, whereas only 1/3 of the young children were found to distributed in 10th and 11th stages in the case of control group. Second, extended poetry activities through nature experience showed significant differences in young children s writing ability(p< .05).
