This study is to identify factors related to the prevention of incidence in the lumbar spinal stenosis among inhabitants of a city in Korea. Data were surveyed using questionnaires by 162 patients who visited at orthopedics located in K area from January 16 through May 3, 2017. The results were as follows. Firstly, in case of stretching exercise, 76.5% of the case groups that do not perform stretching exercise showed a significantly higher rate in spinal stenosis than 53.1% of the control groups that perform stretch exercise((X2=10.29, p<.05). Secondly, in the field of work, white-collar jobs were higher 43.2 percent of the case groups than 35.8 percent of the control groups. Thirdly, case groups who practice jogging regularly were found to have a lower risk of lumbar spinal stenosis than control groups. Fourthly, lumbar spinal stenosis was decreased by 0.47 times in the groups that ate garlic than the groups that didn t eat garlic more than three times a week(OR=0.47, 95% Cl=0.27-0.83). Therefore, it needs the performance of education and practice on lumbar spinal stenosis focusing on local residents for the prevention of disease
