The purpose of this study was to develop a digital portfolio evaluation program for writing skills in braille and to examine the applicability of the program by asking experts, teachers and parents to assess its fitness. It's basically meant to boost the efficiency of braille writing education by applying electronic braille displays instead of merely sticking to existing teaching practices using braille boards, and to step up the development of braille writing evaluation.
A digital portfolio evaluation system was developed by reviewing earlier studies, and 34 people who involved experts in education for students with visual impairment, experts in special education technology, teachers and parents at schools for youth with visual impairment were asked to assess the fitness of the system. As a result, the system turned out to be one of appropriate programs to improve the braille writing skills of students with visual impairment.
