The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the learning club type teaching-learning method on college students problem solving ability and communication ability. The subjects of this study were 111 college students who participated in the learning club program at A university in Seoul excluding untrustworthy responses. In this study, Paired Samples t-test was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of teaching-learning method. In addition, correlation analysis was conducted to examine the interrelationship between problem solving ability and communication ability. As a result of this study, the scores of some sub-factors of communication and problem solving after participation were improved after participating in learning club program. In particular, scores of college students information gathering, understanding others point of view, diffuse thinking factor or problem solving ability significantly improved after participating in learning club program. Teaching-learning methods based on learning club improve students ability to acquire information to understand the meaning of words, intentions, moods, etc. among college students communication skills and their ability to understand the perspective of others through listening. And it helps improve diffuse thinking to solve problems from a new point of view. The results of this study are expected to be used as a comparative data for the analysis of student support programs at universities in higher educational institutions.
