In China, ESD has been taught in the context of curriculum rather than developing ESD programs in connection with curriculum in school education. Nowadays, ESD (Educational Development for the Sustainable Development) is gradually spreading in the level of school education in China. The learner level was initially focused on teachers, but now it is gradually expanding to students, parents, and citizens. However, as the concept of sustainable development education is difficult to understand and the transfer of knowledge and technology at the level of sustainable development has been achieved, the achievement of education has not reached the level of practical capacity. The purpose of this study is to explore the implications for the development of the Sustainable Development Education Program of Practical Arts through a thematic - centered approach to provide an integrated learning experience for elementary school sustainable development education in China. In order to accomplish the purpose of the study, based on previous research and related literature, it is necessary to 1) the necessity of education for sustainable development, 2) Sustainable development education, and draw up a framework to be considered when developing sustainable development education program. The purpose of this research is to explore implications for the development of ESD programs for elementary school students in China.
