With the advent of a lifelong learning society, the need for self-development and capacity-building through the lives of all citizens is further increased. Therefore, it is accelerated by the internal change of education, urging the state to relax the rigidity of education and to expand access to educational opportunities, and recalls the responsibility for quality management of the national learning system.\nThe strengthening of lifelong education functions at the tertiary level, which is made up of the social needs represented by the knowledge-based society, the lifelong learning society, and the necessity of changes within the university, Is a significant aspect of change.\nIn order to expand access to tertiary education for adult learners, the government has introduced a credit banking system, a self-taught degree system, and a time registration system as a course at the university level.\nThis paper examines the current status of lifelong education at the tertiary education level in Korea and examines what kind of system the university should have in order to realize lifelong education.
