The purpose of this study was to understand the reason why women try to
avoid childbirth, survey married working women's intent of childbirth, and
analyze the factors that influence their intent of childbirth to provide basic
resources on low birth rate and women-related policies.
For this purpose, 215 married working women to substantial research was
conducted through a survey to clarify the influence of women's gender
equality awareness, burden of educational environment, childcare policies,
and employer resources on childbirth.
Married women's intent of childbirth was surveyed and 63.1% of them
showed no intent of childbirth. In result to understand the factors that
influence married women's intent of childbirth, it was found that higher
income among all socio-demographical variables contributed to lower intent of
childbirth. Among all independent variables, gender equality awareness, a
personal․psychological factor, and employer's childcare policies and resources,
a social․system factor, influenced their intent of childbirth. However, burden
of educational environment did not significantly influence women's intent of
childbirth.
