오늘날 체육이나 스포츠활동은 신체적 발달에만 기여하는 것이 아니라 사회적 성격, 지적발달, 정서적 발달에 도움을 주는 전인적 교육의 한 영역이라는 점이 더욱 강조되고 있다(이태경, 2003). 이에 최근 학교현장에서도 학생들의 다양한 요구와 흥미, 적성을 고려하여 체육특기적성교육활동 참여의 기회를 확대시키기 위한 방안으로 인력 풀(pool)제의 유능하고 전문적인 지도자와 학교 및 주변 공공체육시설을 활용한 저가 및 양질의 프로그램 개발에 많은 관심을 나타내고 있다. 초등학교의 체육특기적성교육활동 프로그램은 2006년 교육과학기술부가 방과 후 학교 프로그램으로 통합하여 실시한 이래 전국적으로 2007년 7,110개, 2008년 8,072개, 2009년 11,497개, 2010년 상반기에 13,592개가 운영되어 점차 증가하는 추세이다(교육과학기술부, 2010). 이러한 체육특기적성교육활동은 참여 학생의 자발적인 참여의욕을 강조하기 때문에 참여 학생 개개인의 운동기능 향상을 가져오고 건강한 신체를 형성할 수 있으며, 개인의 정서함양은 물론 사회성이나 도덕성의 발달에 기여할 수 있다(박경석, 2009). 그리고 학생 개개인의 특기나 취미 또는 욕구를 충족시켜 주는 다양한 종목을 선택함으로써 학생들의 신체적, 정신적, 사회적 발달을 도모할 수 있다(김범식, 박종진, 2000). 인간의 지적 능력에 대한 연구는 현재까지도 다양한 관점에서 지속적으로 수행되어 오고 있다. Gardner(1999)는 지능에 대해 문화적으로 가치 있는 것을 창출하거나 문제를 해결할 때, 그 문화에서 유용하게 쓰일 수 있는 정보를 처리하는 생물․심리학적인 잠재력으로 정의하면서 다중지능이론을 제시하였다. 다중지능이론에서 지능은 단일한 능력요인 또는 다수의 능력요인으로 구성된 하나의 지능이 아니라 서로 별개로 구분되는 다수의 지능 즉, 언어지능, 논리수학지능, 공간지능, 신체운동지능, 음악지능, 개인이해지능, 대인관계지능, 자연친화지능으로 구성되어 있는데 각각의 지능들은 동등하게 독립적으로 존재하며, 항상 서로 교류하면서 복합적으로 작용한다. 또한 모든 사람들은 정도의 차이는 있지만 어느 정도 다양한 지능을 모두 가지고 있고, 각각의 지능들은 적절한 여건만 주어진다면 높은 수준까지 계발할 수 있다고 밝히고 있다.
The goal of this study was to investigate the relationship between the bodily kinesthetic intelligence and self-fulfillment according to the physical activity of Speciality Aptitude Education of elementary school students. For this, this study was performed with total valid samples, 385 people, being collected through the stratified cluster random sampling and the survey from the subjects of 4th, 5th and 6th grade in elementary school located in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon city. Also, the SPSS Win Ver 14.0 is used for the data processing, and frequency analysis, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, t-test), one-way ANOVA and multiple regression analysis were carried out. The results through the above the method and process of study were as follows. Fisrt, the bodily kinesthetic intelligence and self-fulfillment according to the gender distinction of elementary student were showed that the male student was higher than the female student. Second, the bodily kinesthetic intelligence and self-fulfillment according to the grade of elementary student were showed that the 5th and 6th grade were higher than the 4th grade. Third, the bodily kinesthetic intelligence and self-fulfillment according to the physical activity of speciality aptitude education of elementary student were showed that the students who participated were higher than the students who did not participate. Fourth, the bodily kinesthetic intelligence of elementary student was showed it had plus influence on the self-fulfillment.
