This study aims to examine what affects forming of perception and values of presidential guards who take the roles of presidential protection in accordance with the presidential protection law established for national security regarding the protection martial arts. This study also aims to investigate the perception and values of presidential guards regarding the protection martial arts so as to prepare educational course of protection martial arts practice program and academic basis of protection martial arts. Consequently, the following results were outlined. First, it was revealed that the value on protection martial arts was different depending on the types of martial arts the guards majored. Second, it was revealed that there was no statistically meaningful difference in perception of protection martial arts by the types of martial arts. Third, it was revealed that the perception on the protection martial arts was higher in those who experienced longer periods as guards. Fourth, it was revealed that there was no statistically meaningful difference in value by the period. Fifth, it was revealed that the perception on protection martial arts was different by the guards’ state of grade in martial arts. Sixth, it was revealed that the value on the protection martial arts was different by the guards’ state of grade in martial arts.
