본 연구는 무의식의 자율성에 관한 융의 규명을 미술 창작 과정을 통한 치유의 근거로 제시하고, 이의 실천사례인 브라우너 작품을 분석함으로써 미술치료의 이론적 기반을 확립하는데 목적이 있다. 연구는 무의식의 독립성이 독일 낭만주의 철학에서 비롯된 것으로 규정하고, 그 속에 내포된 무의식의 의미를 파악하는 것으로부터 출발하여, 의식의 영향 하의 무의식이라는 프로이트 해석의 한계를 극복한 융의 목적론적 해석을 이해하고, 이를 기초로 브라우너의 작품에 내재된 미술을 매개체로 한 치유 가능성과의 연관을 분석한다. 융의 집단무의식 개념에 경도된 브라우너는 눈의 파괴라는 극적 사건을 개인적 운명의 신화화를 위한 시점으로 설정하고, 외적 시선의 상실로 획득된 내적조망을 재탄생의 계기로 규정한다. 그는 그림을 통한 신화적 원형과의 대면을 시도하는데, 이것은 한 개인의 운명이 집단적 사건에 편입되는 것을 의미하며, 이를 통해 개인적인 불안정한 정서 상태와 병적인 혐오감을 극복하게 된다. 재탄생을 의미하는 융의 개성화과정을 통한 자기실현 개념은 브라우너의 창작 과정을 통해 형상화되고, 이것은 미술치료의 이론적 근간 및 실천사례로 기능할 것이다.
This study aims to suggest Jung's explanation about autonomy of the unconscious as the base of the therapy through creative art work, and analyze applications of this, Brauner's works, as to establish the theoretical basis of art therapy. This study, defining independency of the unconscious as an idea coming from German Romanticism, starts from understanding the implication of the unconscious, understands Jung's teleological interpretation, and on the basis of this, analyzes its connection with therapeutic possibility that takes the art innate to Brauner's works as a medium. Brauner who was deeply engaged in Jung's concept of the collective unconscious set a dramatic event, the destruction of an eye, as the point of mythification of an individual's destiny, and defined the inner view acquired from loss of external sight as the opportunity of rebirth. He attempted to encounter the mythological archetype through paintings, which means that an individual's destiny is incorporated into the collective incident, and through this, an individual's unstable emotion and morbid aversion can be overcome. The concept of self-realization through Jung's personalization, which signifies rebirth, was visualized through Brauner's creative work, which can provide the theoretical base and practical application of art therapy.
