In this study, it is very essential to develop how our program of art therapy, based on the theory of mind in the development psychology, aims effectively to promote the social skills of normal children. Our training program was applied to 60 first grade-schoolers classified into three groups, test group, control group, and free group. The art activity program based on the theory of mind was applied to the test group, the control group was trained with the program of art therapy for an improvement in social skills, and the free group was only examined without
any training before and after this experiment. Only after executing the program, we discovered the effectively variable analyses of an art activity treatment by comparing the survey items, social behavior, aggression, sympathy, and school life ability, in the early grade-schoolers with the prior results of the same group. The result was that the test group had significantly improved under the art activities as compared with the free groups, from the point of social behavior related with social usage, mind-consideration, and social skill of school life. These studies of the art activity program integrated with theory of mind will contribute toward a
related training of social skills as a therapy technique for children who lack proper social skills.
