본 연구는 아동후기 자녀와 부모간의 세대차이 지각과 세대차이에 따른 대처양식이 자녀와 부모간에 차이가 있는가? 또한 아들과 딸간에 세대차이 지각과 대처양식이 차이가 있는가를 밝히는데 있다. 조사대상은 목포시와 인근지역에 소재하고 있는 초등학교 5학년 남녀 학생 106명과 그들의 아버지 106명, 어머니 106명으로 총 318명이다. 자료처리는 t검증, 일원변량분석, Tukey의 HSD 검증을 병행하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째. 세대차이 지각에 대한 자녀와 부모집단간의 차는 생활 면과 종합적 세대차 에서 유의하게 나타났으며 종합적인 세대차 면에서는 부모가 자녀에 비해 세대차이를 높게 지각한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 세대차이에 대한 대처방식에서는 부모가 자녀에 비해 적극적인 해결방법과 사회적 지원을 더 많이 추구한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아들과 딸의 세대차이 지각을 분석한 결과 학업적인 면과 여가·기호적인 면에서 아들이 딸보다 세대차이를 더 높게 지각하였고 대처방식에서는 아들이 딸에 비해 회피수단을 더 많이 사용하였다.
This study aims to find out the perception differences of the generation gap between parents and children in the late childhood. For this purpose, the following questions were focused on. First, Are there differences in the perception of generation gab, the coping strategy between parents and theirs children? Second, Are there differences in the perception of generation gab, the coping strategy between sons and daughters? To examine these questions, three different questionnaire were distributed to father, mother and children. The questionnaires were consisted of two variables, which asked about the coping ways of the generation gab, the perception of the generation gab and the differences of the point of view between parents and children. The subject of this study are 106 fifth grade students, who were attended elementary schools around Mokpo, and with their 106 fathers and 106 mothers. The data for this study were analyzed using a ANOVA and Tukey HSD. In addition, t-test was conducted to analyze gender differences. The results of this study can be summarized like follows. First, parents and children perceived the largest generation gab in study. Second, in general, parents perceived the generation gab much more than children. Third, sons perceived the generation gab much more than daughters in study.
