TV애니메이션 ‘뽀롱뽀롱 뽀로로’는 현대 유아들에게 미치는 영향력이 큰 반면 무비판적으로 수용되는 경향이 있다. 이 점을 감안하여 본 논문은 ‘뽀롱뽀롱 뽀로로’의 유아교육적 의미와 한계점을 찾는데 목 적을 두었다. ‘뽀롱뽀롱 뽀로로’에 나타난 유아교육적 의미를 현행 교육과정의 5개 생활영역에 근거하 여 분석해본 결과, 기본생활 습관을 강조하고 자연에서 친구들과 함께 노는 놀이를 강조하였으며, 올 바른 언어 환경을 제공하여 책에 대한 관심을 유발하고 상상력 및 탐구심을 자극하여 자유로운 표현을 강조했다는 점에서 의미를 찾을 수 있었다. 이러한 의미가 있는 반면 ‘뽀롱뽀롱 뽀로로’는 놀이의 모티 브를 제공하는데 제한적이고, 성역할 고정관념을 고착시키며, 한국적 요소가 없을 뿐만 아니라 인지 적 측면에서 상대적 위축감을 조장하는 한계가 있는 것으로 드러났다. 따라서 유아들의 긍정적인 매 체시청을 위해서는 어른들이 TV애니메이션에 대한 비판적 인식을 가지고 함께 시청해줄 필요가 있음 을 제안하였다.
This paper is aimed at searching for the educational means and limits of Pororo, TV animation for all infants. There are four types of educational values. That is to emphasize living habits, to underline playing with friends in nature, to provide a right verbal environment and to be able to express one\'s thoughts by stirring up infant\'s imagination. However, there are limitations. It doesn\'t provide enough motive of play and reflect any Korean elements. In addition, it not only perpetuates stereotypes of gender roles, but also incites the depression relatively in cognitive aspects. So this paper suggests that adults need to select TV animation and watch it together with babies for infants positive media viewing.
