평가란 사전적으로 사물 또는 그 속성에 대한 가치판단(價値判斷)을 의미한다(변창진, 최진승, 문수백, 김진규, 권대훈, 1997). 어떤 사물 또는 그 속성에 대한 가치 판단을 내리자면 반드시 판단의 준거 또는 표준이 있어야 한다. 따라서 교육평가란 인정한 준거를 잣대로 하여 교육의 입력, 과정 및 성과에 대한 가치를 조사ㆍ판단하는 행위라고 할 수 있다. 특히 교사의 평가 관련 업무는 초, 중, 고등학교 교사들이 가장 많은 시간을 투자하고 있는 업무 활동 중의 하나이기 때문에(정구향 외, 2005), 학생 평가와 관련된 교사 업무 활동을 하는데 있어서 전문적 능력이 절실하게 요구되는 상황이다. 즉, 교사가 수업을 효율적으로 운영하기 위해서는 다양한 경로를 통해 수집된 정보를 토대로 학생의 학습과 성취에 대해 적절한 의사결정을 내릴 수 있는 능력, 즉 평가 전문성이 요구되며 이 때 교사의 평가활동은 수업과 별개의 활동이 아니라 수업과 연계된 활동이라 할 수 있다. 또한 교수ㆍ학습 상황에서 학생평가는 학생의 학습과 성취에 대한 교사의 의사결정을 돕기 위하여 정보를 수집하고 해석하여 활용하는 활동이다(김수동, 2005).
The purpose of this study was to review the reality of silence in the elementary school in the morning. To achieve the purpose of this study, observation, interview and collection of related documents executed on 2 physical education teachers and 3 homeroom teachers of 5 elementary schools in Daegu. The core contents of the results are as follows. First, teachers were trying to evaluate their students by performance-centered assessments out of skill-centered ones. this means that they teach students PㆍE by reorganizing the curriculum and meet the conditions of the curriculum; connectivity and balance. Second, they were evaluating students\' performances consistently. and to do these, they used checklists, daily records and so on. Third, they were developing and using various assessment techniques from their personal experiences. and they not only let students participate in assessment process but provide them with specific evaluation-related contents. Last, they argued that it needs much time and effort to evaluate students\' performance well and leads to reduce ALT-PE. and they also asserted that the leisure activity part is far away from educational reality and make them have difficulties in the evaluation.
