본 연구는 여성시각장애인의 배제경험을 탐색하고, 통합과정에서 취했던 노력을 알아보고, 이들의 사회통합에 필요한 방안을 제시하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위해 사회활동중인 중증여성시각장애인 8명을 의도표집하여 2010년 10월부터 2011년 3월까지 실시하였으며 개방면접과 반구조화면접지를 활용한 심층면접을 실시하여 내용분석 하였으며, 주요 결 과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 사회적 배제경험은 교육, 고용, 사회참여, 가족내 그리고 공적, 사적 서비스 영역에서의 경험 으로 나누어 조사하였다. 둘째, 극복을 위한 대응양식을 살펴보면, 연구 참여자들은 대체로 배제된 상황에 대해 항의하거나 자신의 입장을 잘 설명하여 이를 극복해 나가려는 태도를 보이고 있었다. 마지막으로 통합을 위한 방안으로는 시각장애인에 대한 인식개선, 여성시각장애인 어울림센터의 확대, 육아 및 가사서비스 활성화, 등 다양한 요구사항이 수집되었다.
The subjects in this study were eight working women with totally blind who were selected by purposive sampling. Their exclusion experiences and how they tide over the difficulties were investigated, and in which way their social inclusion could be expedited was explored. An open-ended interview was conducted by semi-structured interview paper from December 2010 to March 2011. A content analysis was made over the collected recording, and the major findings of the study were as follows: First, their social exclusion experiences were analyzed in terms of education, employment, social participation, family affairs, public service and private service. Second, concerning their ways of coping with social exclusion, they tried to overcome it by making a protest or explaining their own position. Finally, there were several things required for their successful inclusion. The way people look at female visual-impaired people should be changed, and more places where visual-impaired women can mingle together, more intensive and comprehensive child- rear should be prepared.
