Since museums recently have been considered as representatives places for life-long
learning and informal learning, more diverse museum education program are developed
and implemented and especially family participating programs are getting more attentions
and interests from the museum visitors. In this context, this study purposed to develop
factors required in the family-friendly museum education based upon literature reviews and
related studies. And then based upon the factors for the family-friendly museum education,
a case study has been developed and implemented in a real situation using the museum
of press, called \"Presseum\" and examined how the participants satisfied with the program,
what factors are important to lead more effective collaborative learning among the children
and the adults, and finally what kinds of roles are detected from the participant adults in
the relationship with the children as co-participants. The results of this study showed very
positive responses from the participants toward the program and revealed hands-on
practices were effective in enhancing active collaboration among the participants. Finally
the roles of adults were defined as facilitators of the children\'s learning and co-learner as
well. Based upon the positive results of this study, the suggests guidelines for
family-friendly education should be practiced and confirmed in more diverse museums.
