The study aimed to examine how mother-teacher relationship impacts on child-teacher relationship and
child's adaptation to childcare center. The subjects of this study were 191 children of four and five
years old and their mothers and their 14 teachers in charge and three kinds of questionnaire was used
as research tools. The results of the study are summarized as follows. the mothers perceived that they
trust teachers and have coopertaive relation with them, but mothers feel they don't have sufficient
conversation and sharing their educational values with the teachers. The teacjer-child realtionship tends to
be positive and the children have no serious difficulties in childcare center. As for child-teacher
relationship depending on mother's attributes and child‘s adjustment in childcare center, it showed no
significant difference depending on mother's age or educational attainment, whereas it was shown that
working mother's child had more conflict relationship with teacher than non-working mother's child.
Second, although no significant correlation was not found between mother-teacher and child-teacher
relationship and between mother-teacher and child's adjustment in childcare center in general, a
significant correlation was shown between child-teacher relationship and child's adjustment in childcare
center in general, the less close relationship and the more conflict or dependence between the child and
teacher, the more possibly the child show difficulty in adjustment in the childcare center. Third,
mother-teacher relationship and child-teacher relationship have an relative influence on the child's
adjustment in childcare center.
