The purpose of this study was to develop quality content for an aesthetics group involving parents of
young children through various means, including a literature analysis, surveys on the needs of parents of
young children, expert consultations, and an adequacy review carried out by experts. To achieve these
goals, researcher carried out the following research. First, the study examined a number of precedent
research results related to Schiller's theory of aesthetics, aesthetics education, and parent education, to serve
as a philosophical basis. Second, interviews were conducted with 20 parents of young children to
investigate their needs and requirements within aesthetic groups. Third, a focus group interview was
conducted, involving seven members of the council, including exports on parent education and; aesthetic
education; and on-site specialists working with young children. Finally, six early-childhood education
experts reviewed a proposal on aesthetic groups to determine its appropriateness. Through these processes,
the study developed the content of a basic framework for operating aesthetics groups involving parents of
young children. Based on the results of thise study, a request has been made to develop parent education
based on philosophy with an emphasis on the long-term process approach; this balanced approach will
promote the self-growth of parents and build up their parenting capacity.
