The writings about music education sociology, which have been published recently, have been influenced by music sociology. The purpose of this study is to examine the implications of Tia DeNora s music sociology for the study of music education sociology. First, I examine the music sociology of Theodor Adorno, who influenced DeNora. Next, I look into the music sociology of DeNora, compare the positions of the two scholars, discuss similarities and differences, and then suggest what DeNora implies for music education sociology.
