본 논문에서는 초등예비교사들의 식물명 학습 및 지도에 학명을 사용하는 방안을 탐색하였다. 본 연구에서는 단순히 식물 명칭과 각 식물의 특징을 연관시켜 암기하는 방식을 지양하고, 역사적으로 그리고 언어적으로 각 식물의 명칭이 정해진 과정을 탐색하여 보다 효율적인 식물명 지도 방법을 찾고자 하였다. 라틴어로 명명되는 식물 학명에 나타나는 의미와 학명이 정해진 역사를 함께 학습하도록 하면 초등예비교사들이 단순 암기 방식으로 식물명을 학습하는 방법보다는 더 효율적이고 효과적으로 식물 명칭을 학습할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 이 방법을 학습한 교사들은 학교 현장에서 보다 효율적으로 학생들에게 식물의 학명을 가르칠 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.
In this paper, the use of scientific names in teaching plant names for elementary preservice teachers were explored. In this study, author attempted to find a more efficient method for teaching plant names in terms of history and language. The scientific name of the plant, which is called Latin, can be learned more efficiently and effectively for elementary preparatory teachers by learning the principles and history together. It is also believed that teachers who have learned this method will be able to teach the plant scientific names to their students more effectively in school.
