In this paper, the use of scientific names in teaching plant names for elementary preservice teachers were explored. In this study, author attempted to find a more efficient method for teaching plant names in terms of history and language. The scientific name of the plant, which is called Latin, can be learned more efficiently and effectively for elementary preparatory teachers by learning the principles and history together. It is also believed that teachers who have learned this method will be able to teach the plant scientific names to their students more effectively in school.
