This study examines the impact of emotional labor on the quality of service and the moderating effect of Perceived Organizational Support. The subject of this survey were 255 care workers of residential facility for the disabled in Jeollabuk-do. The result of analysis shows that the surface acting of emotional labor has a negative effect on the service quality, whereas deep acting of emotional labor is tied positively to the quality of service. Second, there is a moderating effect of the supervisor and agency support in the relationship between surface acting of emotional labor and quality of service. However, there is no meaningful moderating effect of POS in the relationship between deep acting of emotional labor and quality of service.
According to the survey, the result can be summarized as follows. To enhance the quality of service, active organizational supports, especially the supervisory and agency supports, which can resolve employees’ negative emotional labor are essential. So, this study suggests several policies and practical implications for alleviating emotional labor and improving quality of service in residential facilities.
