이 연구의 목적은 종교적 대처와 외상 후 성장의 관계에서 삶의 의미의 역할을 살펴보는 데 있다. 이를 위해 서울과 경기도 소재 그리스도교 신자 가운데 외상을 경험하고 심각한 심리적 고통을 겪었다고 보고한 377명을 대상으로 종교적 문제해결척도, 인생관점지표, 영적 의미척도, 외상후 질문지, 외상후 성장 척도를 통해 자료를 수집하고 구조방정식을 통해 종교적 대처방식과 외상후 성장 간에 삶의 의미의 매개모형을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 종교적 대처방식 가운데 협력형, 의탁형 대처방식과 외상후 성장과의 관계에서 삶의 의미의 두 하위요인인 개인적 의미와 영적 의미는 유의미하게 외상후 성장을 예측하였다. 둘째, 종교적 대처방식과 외상후 성장의 관계에서 삶의 의미의 두 요인 중 영적 의미의 효과가 개인적 의미보다 더 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 자기주도형 대처방식과 외상후 성장 간의 관계에서 개인적 의미와 영적 의미의 부적 억제효과가 나타났다. 끝으로 본 연구 결과의 의의와 제한점 및 향후 연구 방향을 논의하였다.
The purpose of this study was to examine the mediational role of meaning in life in the relationship between religious coping and posttraumatic growth. Religous ProblemSolving scale(RPSS), Life regard Index-R(LRI-R), Spiritual Meaning Scale(SMS) and Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI) were administered to a sample of 377 Christians living in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. With structural equation model, mediated effect of meaning in life in the relationship between religious coping styles and posttraumatic growth was tested. The results indicated that: 1) personal meaning and spiritual meaning were positively mediated between the collaborative style, deffering style and posttraumatic growth. 2) Spiritual meaning more predict posttraumatic growth. 3) Personal meaning and spiritual meaning showed negative inhibited effect of self-directing style on posttraumatic growth. Implicatons for counseling practice and directions for future research were discussed.
