근대 교육 체제는 아이들에게 예술적 깊이와 종교성 고양을 앗아가 버렸을 뿐 아니라, 예술과 종교에 대한 우리의 태도를 심각하게 왜곡시켰다. 특정 종교인을 양성하는 교육이나 미션스쿨의 교리 교육으로 학교에서의 종교성 고양은 왜곡, 혹은 축소되어 버렸고, 전문 연주자나 예술가 양성 위한 테크닉 교육만 남아 있고, 모든 아이들을 위한 예술적 깊이의 추구는 학교교육에서 완전히 사라져 버렸다. 따라서 예술적 깊이와 종교성 고양은 근대 교육 체제를 넘어서는 데서 가능하다. 그런데 탈근대 교육 기획은 아직 탐구 중이다. 다만 다음과 같은 이야기로 우리의 과제를 정리할 수 있을 것이다. 기본적으로 탈근대적 교육 기획은 교사, 학생, 학부모 등 교육의 주체들이 교육 목표와 교육과정, 그리고 학교 공간을 함께 만들고, 학교 운영을 함께 해나가는 자유로운 배움의 공동체를 토대로 한다. 이런 배움의 공동체는 우리 시대의 절박한 교육적 화두를 실천하는 공동체임은 물론이고, 그 교육적 실천의 중심축에는 근대교육이 몰아낸 예술적 깊이와 종교성 고양이 자리하고 있다.
In modern education system the aesthetics values and the religious exaltation was excluded. Besides we were seriously misunderstood Art and Religion in essence. So-called in the name of ‘religious education’ we produced a monk in specific religion and disciplined specific doctrine to students in the mission school. Likewise so-called in the name of 4art education’ we produced a performer in specific genre and trained students for a specific skill. The slogan - ‘Art education for all children’ was vanished into thin air. Pursuiting aesthetics values and religious exaltation in schooling, we have to break through modern education system. But post-modern education project is searching for new concept. Only it will be able to speak about our subject in the next. Basically, post-modern education project should be based on community that it consist of education subjects, namely teachers, students, and parents. This education subjects must to decide what student to learn, how to manage school etc. It is the community that resolve contemporary education topic, namely ecological, feminine, peaceful, and co-existical questions. Of course, the aesthetics values and religious exaltation is involved contemporary education topic.
