The purpose of this study is to present a method for realizing environmental rights education for 5th and 6th graders in elementary school. For this, the content areas and implications of environmental rights education were extracted by analyzing the contents related to environmental rights education of 5th and 6th textbooks reflecting the 2015 revised elementary curriculum. Based on those, a teaching-learning implementation strategy for case-based learning for environmental rights education was established. The conclusion gained through this study is as following. First, the textbooks of moral, social, scientific, and practical arts of 5th and 6th grade were reflected in contents of environmental rights education appropriately to the characteristics of each subject. Second, based on this content analysis, the study has established a teaching-learning implementation strategy for case- based learning by case development/selection, case analysis, design of case analysis activity sheet, design of case-based learning procedure and development of teaching-learning process plan based on cases. Third, based on the teaching-learning implementation strategy for case-based learning, the study developed case- based teaching-learning plan that can be guided in curriculum closely related to environmental rights education and creative experience activities. The case-based teaching-learning materials and instructional methods presented in this study are likely to help foster problem-solving, communication skills, empathy skills, and consideration for others by inducing active learner- centered learning through understanding of the unfamiliar concept of environmental rights.
