This study was conducted with related class to explore the meaning and its applicability of su-muk painting classes based on Yuyi(寓意) in the liberal arts education. First, students drew shapes not only for the similarity, but also for perceiving its principle. Secondly, students deposited their thoughts and experiences into the images considering their identities. The self-image that the students were able to draw in these classes revealed in two ways. Firstly, the expression of memory. They found themselves in the memories of the past through drawing their meaningful spaces and times. Secondly, the expression of their mind. They revealed themselves by unraveling their thoughts and feelings with various ink wash techniques. Through the drawing, students were able to review themselves objectively and subjectively, communicating with viewers through various visual languages. Through this research, it was possible to confirm the meaning of the su-muk painting for students to recognize, strengthen and expand themselves.
