[Contents] 1) The direction and emphasis of the 2022 revised curriculum design and the development process and procedure of the ‘Religion in Human Life’ curriculum. 2) The key focus areas and content of ‘Religion in Human Life’.
[Conclusions] ‘Religion in Human Life’ is to educate wise citizens through cultivating religious literacy as a liberal arts subject for career choice. The curriculum was designed to select and organize educational content related to learners’ lives, maximize the feasibility of implementation in the school curriculum, and realize the subjectivity and autonomy of curriculum operation. The educational content and achievement standards were reduced to enable learning in depth. Institutional support is needed so that more students can choose and open religious subjects, which are passively practiced in private schools and left as null courses in public schools, within the system of revised curriculum and high school credit system. This is related to issues such as textbook accreditation and the educating for teachers who will be in charge of religious subjects in public schools.
