본 연구는 음악 교사 행위주체성에 관한 국외 연구 동향을 고찰하여, 국내 음악교육 분야의 교육과정 실천 연구에 함의를 제공하고자 한다. 이를 위해 2012년부터 2023년 5월까지 국외 학술지에 게재된 음악 교사 행위주체성 관련 논문 20편을 연구주제, 연구맥락, 연구방법 측면에서 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 음악 교사 행위주체성에 관한 국외 연구들은 주로 교사 행위주체성의 발현 양상이나 지원 방안을 탐구하는 데에 초점을 두고 있으며, 교사 학습이나 교육 개혁의 맥락에서 질적연구방법을 활용한 연구의 비중이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이를 토대로, 이 연구에서는 국내 음악교육 분야의 교육과정 실천 연구에서 교사 행위주체성에 대한 논의의 필요와, 교사 행위주체성에 기반하여 음악 교사의 교육과정 실천을 심층적으로 탐색하는 연구의 필요성이 제언되었다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze international research trends on music teacher agency and to find out implications for curriculum practice research. For this purpose, 20 articles on music teacher agency published in international journals from January 2012 to May 2023 were analyzed in terms of research theme, context, and method. The results of the analysis showed that international studies on music teacher agency mainly focused on examining the emergent aspect and support plan of teacher agency. Additionally, a high proportion of these studies used qualitative research methods in the context of teacher learning or education reform. Based on these findings, this study suggests the need for discussion on teacher agency in curriculum practice research in the field of domestic music education. Furthermore, it proposes the importance of conducting research that explores music teachers' curriculum practices based on the concept of teacher agency.
