With the rapid changes in the social environment, such as the recent decline of the school-age population and the opening up of the university education market, the need for strengthening the competitiveness of university education has emerged. In addition to strengthening the teaching capacity of professors, which are the key actors in strengthening university competitiveness, there is an increasing interest and demand for teachers' empathy capabilities. Accordingly, this study aims to establish a roadmap for a life-cycle faculty empathy capacity enhancement program to enhance the empathy capacity of university professors. To this end, in this study, based on the diagnosis model of teaching competence of University D, a survey of full-time professors was conducted to analyze the needs and importance of professors ' empathy capabilities, and the detailed competencies of faculty empathy competencies were derived. The life-cycle faculty empathy improvement program established in this study will contribute to the improvement of professors' empathy and may be used as useful information for the construction of a professor's empathy capacity building program.
