이 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 차별피해경험이 우울을 매개로 차별가해행동에 미치는 영향에서 지각된 인권존중의 조절된 매개효과를 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 2022년 한국 아동⋅청소년 인권실태조사(김영지 등, 2022)에서 초등학교 4 ~ 6학년, 중학교 및 고등학교 전체 학년을 대상으로 수집한 자료 가운데 초기 청소년기에 해당하는 초등학교 4~6학년 2,994명의 자료가 분석에 사용되었다. 분석에는 SPSS 25.0과 Process macro for SPSS 4.2(Hayes, 2022)의 Model 4, Model 7을 활용하였다. 자료를 분석한 결과, 초등학생의 차별피해경험과 차별가해행동 간에 우울의 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타나 초등학생의 차별피해경험이 많을수록 우울 수준도 높아졌고 차별가해행동도 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 초등학생의 차별피해경험과 우울 간의 관계에서 지각된 인권존중의 조절효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 초등학생의 차별피해경험, 우울, 차별가해행동 간의 관계에서 지각된 인권존중의 조절된 매개효과가 유의미한 것으로 나타나 인권존중 수준이 높아질수록 매개효과가 유의미하게 작아지는 것을 확인하였다. 이 연구는 초등학생의 차별가해행동에 대한 차별피해경험의 직접효과와 우울을 매개로 한 간접효과를 확인하였으며, 인권존중의 조절된 매개효과를 밝힘으로써 초기 청소년기부터 차별행동에 대한 예방과 개입을 위해 실증적인 자료를 제공했다는 데에 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the mediation effect of depression and moderated mediation effect of perceived respect for human rights between discrimination victim experience and discrimination behavior among elementary school students. Data collected from the Korean Human Rights Practices Survey for Children and Adolescents (Kim et al., 2022) were used to analyze the data of 2,994 students in early adolescence. The analyses were conducted using SPSS 25.0 and the Process Macro for SPSS 4.1(Hayes, 2022), model 4 and model 7. The results showed that the mediating effect of depression between elementary school students' discrimination victim experience and discriminatory behavior was significant. In addition, the moderating effect of perceived respect for human rights was found in the relationship between their discrimination victim experience and depression. Finally, the moderated mediating effect of perceived respect for human rights was significant, and the mediating effect became smaller as the level of respect for human rights increased. This study confirms the direct effect of discrimination victim experience on discriminatory behavior, the indirect effect through depression, and the moderated mediating effect of respect for human rights, providing empirical data for prevention and intervention of discriminatory behavior from early adolescence.
