The purpose of this study was to identify the color psychology patterns of women engaged in prostitution and then verify how each pattern was related to depression and resilience. Patterns of color psychology were identified by factor analysis and the result was a four-factor solution for awakening mandala: yellow-blue, green-brown-red, light green-pink, and black-white. For open-mind mandala, there was a six-factor solution: black-blue, pink-orange, purple-yellow, red-brown, sky blue-brown, and light blue-brown. The result of life-energy mandala was a five-factor solution: sky blue-yellow, brown-purple, red-green, blue-orange, and black-white. The causation effect was identified by regression analysis with the results showing that a black-white pattern aggravated depression and weakened resilience. When yellow meets blue in a pattern, it tends to decrease depression and increase resilience, but when yellow meets orange, it tends to intensify depression and weaken resilience. Brown had different effects on depression and resilience, depending on with which color it was combined. When pink meets light blue and orange, resilience was increased. Yellow-blue and purple-yellow patterns tend to reduce depression and increase resilience. The results of this study showed a theoretical basis for the relationship among color psychology, depression, and resilience, suggesting a way to reduce depression and improve resilience based on color psychology.
