The purpose of this study was to explore in what ways an independent film director suffered depressive disorder experienced studio art therapy and the meanings of the therapeutic experience. For this purpose, 20 therapy sessions were conducted for 90 minutes in each session from September 2021 to June 2022, including follow-up consultations with the research participant diagnosed depressive disorder. The experience was reconstructed through narrative inquiries, including the record of all sessions, verbatim records, artworks, dreams, Rorschach ink-blot test results, and the researcher's clinical journals. Through this study, this article presents the following discussions and implications on the studio art therapy experience by the independent film director. First, in the studio art therapy, the research participant could immerse in creative work and motivated. Second, during the studio art therapy process, the research participant experienced relationship improvement. Third, the research participant felt a sense of accomplishment and emotional stability during the studio art therapy. Finally, the therapy was affected by the researcher's competency and experience, and the researcher reflected the importance of Empowerment and self-exploration. Based on these contents, the significance and limitations of this study were discussed.
