This study aims to study in depth to the art therapists’ difficulty experienced in their art therapy practice using phenomenology study. The researchers then conducted an in-depth clinical interviews with 6 art therapist who worked for three to five years to collect data and analyzed them through a phenomenological approach developed by Giorgi and derived the results. According to the results, art therapists’ difficulty experienced in their art therapy practice were categorized into a total of 5 themes including systematic factor what causes occupational difficulties , individual factor what causes occupational difficulties , efforts for endure the occupational difficulties , growth experience through endure the occupational difficulties , expectation matter for solve the occupational difficulties and 14 categories were derived. These results showed that an art therapist grow as a not only mature human but also art therapist through overcome the difficulty experienced in their art therapy practice. In addition, occupational difficulties is thought that it will act as a catalyst to accelerate the development of self as an individual and art therapist as a professional. This study can be used as a basic data that peer art therapists and next generation art therapists improve occupational difficulties in their art therapy clinical field. In addition, I hope that art therapists are supported as professional workers and protected institutionally so the art therapy field will be further developed in the future.
