본 연구의 목적은 농촌 여성노인의 죽음에 대한 태도를 파악하고, 죽음태도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 확인하여 죽음 준비교육을 위한 기초자료를 마련하고자 함이며, 구체적인 목적은 다음과 같다. 농촌 여성노인의 죽음태도와 자아통합감, 우울, 사회 적 지지 정도를 파악한다. 농촌 여성노인의 일반적 특성에 따른 죽음태도의 차이 를 파악한다. 농촌 여성노인의 죽음태도와 자아통합감, 우울, 사회 적 지지 간의 관계를 파악한다. 농촌 여성노인의 죽음태도에 영향을 미치는 변인을 파 악한다.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify predictors of attitudes to death for elderly women in rural communities. Methods: Data were collected through a survey of 350 women who were conveniently selected. The questionnaire included items on demographic-sociological factors, attitudes to death, ego-integrity, depression, and social supports. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Duncan, and stepwise multiple regression with the SPSS/WIN 14.0 program. Results: The significant predictors of attitudes to death were ego integrity (β =.37, p<.001), depression (β=-.32, p<.001), age (β=.16, p<.001), and disease (β=.12, p<.001), explaining 48% of the variance in attitudes to death. Conclusion: In order to make positive changes in attitudes to death for elderly women in rural communities, it is necessary to provide intervention programs which emphasize improved egointegrity, decreased depression and healthy attitudes to personal living.
