The purpose of this study was to qualitatively explore what kinds benefits postal distance education programs have and propose some implications for the postal distance education system in terms of workplace learning. To do this, this study conducted face to face interview with 4 employees who have participated in at least 3 postal distance education programs for the last twelve months. The interview questionnaire was developed based upon the necessity and purpose of the study. Data was analyzed according to the 4 step method suggested by Strauss and Corbin(1998). Through analysis process, results were categorized and coded. The benefits of postal distance education includes (1) job competency development (understanding of new trends and acquiring fundamental knowledge, expertise development,competency development for future, just in time learning and applying to the workplace), (2) mind of understanding others, (3) reading for developing competency, and (4) building the learning community to share his or her knowledge with others. Some roles of postal education on workplace learning in companies are discussed based on the findings of this study.
