Non-literary books can uniquely deliver knowledge and information to its readers.
Unfortunately, the public school systems only provide these important studies as a
supplement and nonessential education.
Educating on non-literary text begins with 4th grade or 11 years old students.
Due to their familiarity of literary books, the students are distressed when reading
non-literary books. Non-literary books emphasizes on comprehending the text, which
requires patience, compared to literary books which can be joyful when reading.
Thus, it is difficult for current reading specialist of Hanuri to adequately deliver and
educate their students.
This research attempts to effectively postulate the teaching of non-literary text of
Hanuri books. The research consists of 3 non-literary books to be read by 4th
graders from January to march of 2010. It uses the techniques of Bloom and
Krathwhole as its theory.
The results show that it will expand the student’s view, interest, and knowledge.
It also improved and broadened their scope of thinking. This research will be helpful
for the students and the reading instructors of Hanuri.
