The special school for children with mental retardation has various vocational subjects. The purpose of this study was to analysis the vocabulary items in the confectionery․bred vocational text book for children with mental retardation. The one confectionery․bred vocational text book for children with mental retardation were analyzed for this study. The vocabulary items were divided into basic vocabulary with 15 items such as human beings, cloths, food life, life materials, social life, education, natural phenomena, animals, plants, minerals, colors, spaces, times, numbers, and abstracts, and foreign language with 11 items such as human beings, food life, life materials, social life, education, natural phenomena, animals, minerals, colors, spaces, times, and numbers. The results of this study were that: (a) there were 1,110 vocabulary in the confectionery․bred vocational text book for children with mental retardation; and (b) there were 224 vocabularies in the confectionery․bred vocational text book for children with mental retardation. Therefore this study concluded that the vocabularies in the confectionery․bred vocational text book for children with mental retardation were effective to teach the children with mental retardation.
