The purpose of this study was to compare the level of HRM and HRD activities of large
companies and small and midium sized companies which obtained higher than 500 points out of 1,000 points in Korea Best Human Resources Developer Certification system.
With significance level of .05, there were statistically significant differences in the items such as establishing organization's core competency and recruiting methods, development and application of competency assessment system for recruitment, diversity of promotion, systematic linkage between education results and performance rating, and education based on CDP. The large companies showed higher scores in these above factors than SMEs.
On the other hand, it was identified that SMEs had higher scores in the following areas. They are linkage between personnel management and recruitment planning with organizations' long term vision. setting clear objectives using KPI, close linkage between the objectives and performance evaluation, and reflection of performance rating and personal achievement separately.
