schools in Korea and look for the remedies for them. The current paper collected information
on the teachers, curriculum, facilities, employment after graduation, and the problems with
occupational training from the teachers for occupational training in 20 special schools. To gather those data, the present author used survey technique both through a face-to-face interview and a telephone interview. The noticeable results of the current study are that there are urgent needs for the teachers trained in the area of occupational training, the development of systematic training by stage, and occupational training programs for the seriously handicapped students. Also, the education for occupational preparation should be more emphasized than the training for occupational skills. Finally, one needs to review the current courses and develop new curriculum, and expand and modernize the training facilities.
