본 연구의 목적은 중도 지적장애학생이 지역사회에 효과적으로 적응할 수 있도록 학령기 전환교육 관점에서 중도 지적장애 초등학생을 대상으로 우리 마을 지도 만들기 중재를 실시하여 지역사회 기초 적응 기술인 지역사회 이동능력을 향상시키는 것이다. 연구 대상은 중도 지적장애 초등학생 3명이고, 중재는 특수학급의 사회교과 수업을 활용하여 약 6개월간 이루어졌다. 연구 설계는 사례연구방법을 사용하였으며, 연구 결과는 중도 지적장애 초등학생들의 지역사회 이동능력이 향상되었고 수업에 적극적으로 참여하는 등 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 결과는 학령기 전환교육 관점에서 논의되었으며, 중도 지적장애학생의 지역사회 적응 및 통합을 증진시키는 교육프로그램을 구성하는 데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of community-based instruction on the community mobility(finding locations) of elementary students with intellectual disabilities. The participants of the study were three elementary students with intellectual disabilities. The intervention was implemented in the classroom and the community. A case study research method was used to investigate the effectiveness of the intervention. The result of this study was as following. Teaching of making our downtown map improved the community mobility(finding locations) of elementary students with intellectual disabilities. The result of the study was discussed in the perspective of school-based transition for children with disabilities, and can be used to plan and implement successful community adjustment programs.
