One of the main priorities of the five-year plan for the development of special education in Korea is to promote practice-oriented vocational education for students with disabilities. This paper aims to review the basic system and the trends for vocational education for students with disabilities in Germany, which places great emphasis on practical training of students. This paper focuses on the following issues: 1) How ist the German vocational education system structured? 2) How is vocational education of students with disabilities implemented in Germany? 3) What are the implications of the above for Korea? This paper will analyze: 1) The structure and functions of the public organizations that are directly and indirectly responsible for vocational education of students with disabilities. 2) The structure and the trends of institutions of vocational education for students with disabilities. 3) Projects that make their goal the integration of students with disabilities into the labor market.
