The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of community based
instruction on acquiring, generalizing and maintaining leisure skills. Two highschool
students with mental retardation in special classes have been taught how to use
balling facility, swimming pool, and skate link employing minimal prompt and
delayed prompt. Multiple probe technique, one of variation of multiple base line
design, was employed. The conclusions are as follows based on the result of visual
analysis. Community based instruction was effective for students with mental
retardation to learn, generalize, and maintain leisure skills of using balling facility,
swimming pool, and skate link. Community based instruction can be utilized to teach
leisure skills for the students with mental retardation.
