이 연구는 신설 특수학급에 대한 운영 실태를 구체적으로 객관화하기 위하여 경기도 중･고등학 교에서 신설 특수학급을 담당했던 교사들을 대상으로 설문조사와 심층면담을 실시하였다. 연구결 과 신설 특수학급 담당교사들은 특수학급 신설에 대한 공식적인 정보나 지침이 없이 교사 개인의 역량으로 특수학급 운영을 위한 모든 준비를 하고 있었다. 또한 시설･설비와 통합교육 환경 조성의 미비 등 행정적 지원이 없어 신설 특수학급에 대한 다각적인 지원이 요구됨을 알 수 있었다. 따라 서 이를 지원하기 위한 신설 특수학급 지원 웹사이트 운영 및 신설 특수학급 지원팀 구성 등의 필 요성이 제기되었다.
The purpose of this study is to objectify concretely the management status of newly-established special classes at middle and high schools. This study conducted a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews with teachers involved in the special classes. According to the results of the study, it was found that the teachers involved in newly-formed special classes prepared for the classes along with their own guidelines, but any official supports for the new establishment of the special classes. Moreover, it was revealed that there were no administrative supports, not only to build necessary equipments and facilities for newly-organized special classes, but also to foster positive environments of mainstreaming education. Therefore, it was necessary to propose a wide range of administrative supports and human resources, such as specialists caring for the teachers through websites related to newly-established special classes.
