This paper aims at discussing the some implications helpful the development of our
Inclusive education delivery system, by reviewing to the British visual impairment service
delivery system for inclusive education. In the United Kingdom, peripatetic teaching
services for visual impairment children were developed in the mid 1960s. Now 80 percent
of VI children without additional disabilities are in local mainstream school. The British
local education authoritis are operating two inlcusive education delivery models for VI
children. First, most local authorities manage their VI service within a broader service
organization, that is, the generic service, or the sensory service, or the separate VI service
and so. Second, some local authorities have mainstream schools additionally resourced for
VI children. these models are selected according to the local conditions, including the
geographical size, the total population and the number of VI chilren. They provide a
wide range of services for VI children, such as counseling, peripatetic teaching, orientation
and mobility training, braille material production, assistive technology. This paper
concludes with an emphasis on the need to provide a peripatetic service for VI children
in our local special education support centers and institute resource rooms for VI children
in general schools.
